Zero/Sum
The city runs on countdowns. Somewhere behind eight security floors sits a vault, and between you and it: glass bridges that shatter when their timer dies, locks that only release at their zero, lasers that fire on one exact tick, shutters that seal forever, and gates that demand two clocks agree on the same moment.
Your one power is the ledger. Before the run starts, take seconds from any clock and place them on another in the same circuit. Time is conserved — a second moved to open a door sooner is a second stolen from the bridge you still have to cross. Once you take your first step, the ledger seals and the plan is the plan.
How it plays:
- Grid movement where every move and every wait costs exactly one tick
- Re-tune the clocks at T+00, then execute; rewind the timeline to any tick when the plan goes wrong
- Refusals over cheap deaths: sealed doors just stop you and tell you when they open — only collapsing bridges, lasers, and phase matter kill
- Click to preview a route with the arrival tick shown on every tile before you commit
- 8 floors, each with machine-verified pars for both ticks and transfers — the targets are real, not guesses
- 24 stars and 2 hidden time shards; records track your best runs separately, because some floors force a choice between the fastest route and the leanest one
- Two-stage hints when you're stuck — a nudge first, the full plan only if you ask again
No timers on you, no reflexes required. Just a floor plan, a handful of countdowns, and the arithmetic of a perfect theft.
